Soy Candle Gift Guide

A candle is a gift that does not gather dust: it burns, it scents a room, and it leaves a memory. Here is how we, as candle makers, would choose one for someone else, and the one gift we can deliver anywhere in the world within minutes.

The gift we can send anywhere

For the person who already loves candles and wants to make their own: the complete method, delivered by email right after purchase.

Which scent for whom

For someone who loves a cozy home

Baked apple with cinnamon, mulled wine with orange and clove, cherry with cedar and clove. These gourmand and spiced scents read as warmth before anyone has lit the wick, and they are the ones people reach for from October to February. Go for the larger size: cozy scents are meant to fill a living room.

For the holidays

Pine, fir and spruce with a touch of citrus and spice is the one holiday candle almost nobody dislikes. Mulled wine with orange and spice is the next safest. Small 4 oz candles make excellent stocking fillers or gift-exchange presents; an 8 oz candle is a main gift.

For someone sensitive to strong scents

Choose soft vanilla-amber or fresh green compositions and a smaller size: a 4 oz soy candle scents a room gently. Soy wax itself throws scent more softly than paraffin, which is a feature here; we explain why in best soy candle scents.

For a wedding, birthday or thank-you

A personalized label turns a candle into a keepsake: names and a date, a short thank-you, a company logo for client gifts. Small workshops do this routinely; ask for it before you order from a factory brand that cannot. See what else craft candles do better in handmade soy candles.

For the candle maker in your life

Someone who has started pouring their own candles does not want another candle. They want to know why their last batch frosted, which wick fits a 3-inch jar and how much fragrance oil per pound of wax is safe. Our guide answers exactly that, in 9 chapters, and it arrives instantly.

Which size to give

Burn times by size, and what shortens them, are in how long do soy candles burn.
SizeWhen it is the right gift
4 oz / 120 mlsmall add-on gift, stocking filler, a set of two or three scents to try
8 oz / 235 mlthe main gift for one person; the size most people buy and burn to the end
12 oz / 373 ml and upa generous gift for a large living room, a couple or a housewarming
Set of threewhen you do not know their favorite scent: three different ones, already boxed

What to check on the label

  • The wax. “100% soy wax” or a named blend (soy-coconut, soy-beeswax). “Natural wax” or “vegetable wax” with no detail usually hides a paraffin blend.
  • The wick. Cotton or wood, no metal core. A candle that lists its wick series is made by someone who tested it.
  • The scent load. You will not see a percentage, but a candle that smells strong cold and lists its fragrance notes is more likely to throw well when lit.
  • The surface. Light frosting on soy is normal and even a sign of pure soy; a sunken, cracked top is not. More in soy candle frosting and wet spots.
  • The burn time. A stated figure you can compare: roughly 5 to 7 hours per ounce of soy wax when burned correctly.

What to put in the box

  • A first-burn note. Soy wax has a memory: the first burn has to reach the glass all the way around, or the candle will tunnel for the rest of its life. One sentence on the card prevents it. Full rules: how to burn a soy candle.
  • A wick trimmer or a reminder to trim. A wick trimmed to 1/4 inch before every burn is the single biggest difference between 40 and 60 hours of burn time.
  • A matching scent in another form. A wax melt or a reed diffuser in the same composition makes the gift look planned rather than grabbed.

Frequently asked questions

Is a soy candle a good gift?

It is one of the few gifts that is used up with pleasure rather than stored. Soy burns longer than paraffin, cleans up with soap and water, and reads as natural and thoughtful. Pick the scent by the room it will burn in and the size by that room's size.

What size candle should I give?

8 oz (about 235 ml) is the safe main gift: enough for weeks of evenings, small enough for any room. 4 oz is an add-on or stocking filler; 12 oz and larger suit big living rooms and couples.

Which soy candle scent is the safest choice?

For winter, a pine and spice composition or baked apple with cinnamon; for the rest of the year, something soft and vanilla-sweet or a fresh green scent. Avoid very heavy gourmand scents for someone you do not know well.

Can I buy your candles from the United States?

Not yet; our candles ship within Poland only. The digital candle-making guide is available worldwide and is delivered instantly after purchase.

What should I write in the card about burning the candle?

Something like: “Light it for 2 to 3 hours the first time, until the melted wax reaches the glass, and trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn.” That alone prevents tunneling and roughly doubles the useful life of the candle.
